While a boss is a difficult and important enemy in a game, Puzzle Bosses are a specific type of boss. A puzzle boss cannot be directly attacked. Instead, the player must utilize the environment to defeat their foe.
Simple puzzle bosses just need to be lured into traps, but you will also find examples that require the player to run around the boss arena completing specific objectives at certain points to cause damage to the boss.
