Glossary Entry: Smartphone

A "smartphone" is a cell phone that is essentially a portable computer. Since they can run Apps in addition to making phone calls, and they are often used like a portable entertainment device rather than a phone. In other words, they're tablets that can also make phone calls.

Apple's iPhone is one of the best examples of a smartphone out there today, as just about everyone recognizes one even if they don't know how to use it.
