Glossary Entry: Strafe

Strafing refers to walking sideways as opposed to forwards or backwards. This ability is vital in many games, as it allows you to move to the side (and thus away from an attack) while continuing to face your enemy.

A related tactic in older games is called circle strafing, which can decimate a lot of enemies quickly if you have enough ammo.
