As games have become more complex, developers have attempted to merge features common to role playing games into other genres. These hybrid games are said to be "[insert genre here] with RPG elements".
Usually, this means things like stats, leveling up through gaining experience, and elaborate quest lines have been mixed into the original genre's gameplay.
