Glossary Entry: Malware

Quick Definition

A merger of the prefix Mal (which means "bad") and Software, malware is dangerous software that is designed to harm someone in some way. Examples include viruses*, worms*, spyware*, adware* and trojans*.

A good antivirus* and proper precautions when using the computer will prevent the majority of them from getting through, but you still need to be careful as it's a minefield out there.
