Glossary Entry: Hit Points

Quick Definition

Often abbreviated HP, this is a measurement of how much damage (ie, how many hits) a character in a game can receive before they are killed.

In most games, healing injuries is depicted by restoring a character's HP. However, there is usually an upper limit to how many hit points a character can have (called Max HP), and healing them further will usually do nothing.
