Quick Definition
A forum is a place on a website where people can discuss various topics. Unlike a chat, a forum does not require the participants to be online at the same time, and can thus be used to talk about something with multiple people in a more casual setting.
Forums often require signing up in order to post anything. Each discussion is usually also separated into its own thread*, which allows people to have many conversations at once.
