Glossary Entry: Ending

Quick Definition

This refers to any cutscene that plays right before the credits. The hero has won, and the battle is over. It's time to wrap up the story and celebrate.

Many games have more than one possible ending. In games like this, what you've done in the game up to this point determines which ending you get. Since some of these endings can have things end badly for the protagonist, the terms good end and bad end have cropped up to describe a particular type of ending. There is also the possibility of a secret ending, which requires some extra effort.

Since the player might have had to really work for the ending they are being shown, be a good sport and wait for the cutscene to conclude before interrupting them. Depending on the game, they may not be able to view it again without doing everything over!
