Glossary Entry: Cloud

Quick Definition

In computing terms, a "cloud" is a computer, usually owned and maintained by someone else, that you can access through the internet.

Yes, moving your files to the "the cloud" literally just means storing your files on someone else's computer and accessing them via the internet. A "home cloud" setup is literally just a hard drive that you keep somewhere in your home that access via the internet. Buzzwords tend to be underwhelming like that.
