Glossary Entry: Casual Gamer

Quick Definition

The exact opposite of a hardcore gamer*, casual gamers play video games just for fun. They don't typically care about getting the best items, earning achievements*, or detailed stories. Instead, they treat video games as a short distraction from everyday life.

Since they aren't interested in getting involved with complicated mechanics* or long plots, the best games for this type of gamer are simple and short, with few or no unlockable* features -- or in other words, casual games*.
