Glossary Entry: Malware

Quick Definition

A merger of the prefix Mal (which means "bad") and Software, malware is dangerous software that is designed to harm someone in some way. Examples include viruses, worms, spyware, adware and trojans.

A good antivirus and proper precautions when using the computer will prevent the majority of them from getting through, but you still need to be careful as it's a minefield out there.
