Glossary Entry: Experience

Also simply called exp or XP, this is short for experience points. In many games, the player or their characters are rewarded with experience points for doing various tasks, such as completing a quest or killing enemies. Once they have accumulated enough experience, their "level" or "rank" increases and they become more capable and powerful.
